Fisher Scientific – Marketing Website Designer

Currently working at Fisher Scientific as part of the BSc Software Engineering course, incorporating a year in the IT industry into my degree. As a website Designer I produce content for both Fisher Scientifics’ UK website and internal intranet applications too. Software used includes Dreamweaver, Access and Photoshop, amongst others. Relied upon to be resourceful, professional and creative. Thoroughly enjoying being part of the Website Marketing team and the responsibility as a full time employee.

E.On UK Inspection Management – Team Support Member

Worked as part of the Non-Destructive Inspection Management Team during a major unit 1 outage. Practical work included assisting with an assortment of inspection techniques, carried out in hazardous conditions. Other tasks included assessing, reporting and prioritising workloads, communicating and managing various schedules with a variety of personnel. Equipment used included flaw detection apparatus combined with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Inspection results were compiled using various computer-based software. Relied upon to be thorough, responsible, and work as part of a team to meet deadlines under strenuous conditions.

Various mandatory safety exams were taken before access to site was permitted, including a 3 day safety course, valid for 3 years, authenticated by ECITB (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board). Confined space training was also required before work could be carried out. Team briefings and progress / safety meetings were attended daily. I was expected to be punctual and professional.

Playgroup marketing Support Member

Design & production of advertisement material used to promote forthcoming events such as fund raising car-boot sales and Christmas Fares. Responsibilities included poster and flyer creation using applications such as Photoshop CS3, Macromedia tools and MSOffice 2008. Occasional supervised assistance to childcare professionals during playgroup sessions. Support included basic food and drink preparation as well as assisting in the general care of the children. Relied upon to be dependable, trustworthy and caring by members of staff.
